The 6th Edition of Delizie Italiane Proves a Success Again

Triolet, Wednesday 12 June 2024 — This year, once again, Italian culture and haute cuisine took centre stage at Delizie Italiane. An event organised by L’Artigiano and eagerly awaited by chefs, hotel group representatives, restaurateurs and other industry professionals.

A Showcase of Italian Excellence

True to form, L’Artigiano, specialising in the import and distribution of premium Italian food products, pulled out all the stops to offer an exceptional experience to its guests. Delizie Italiane, now in its 6th edition, was held on Wednesday 12 June 2024 at the company’s headquarters in Triolet.

The numerous guests were able to discover the new products offered by the brand while enjoying pizzas prepared by the renowned Italian chef, Bosio Andrea. All this in a very convivial atmosphere.

If we have managed to position Delizie Italiane as a flagship event in the realm of Italian haute cuisine, it is thanks to the trust and continued support of our customers. I’m referring here to the professionals in the hotel sector, including chefs and restaurateurs,” says Daniela Quaranta, Managing Director of L’Artigiano. “Your support and interest in premium Italian products encourage us to continually seek out innovative products from world-renowned Italian suppliers.

Celebrating Italy’s Global Culinary Appeal

Italian-born Daniela Quaranta also emphasised the popularity of Italian cuisine. “It must be recognised that Italian cuisine has long transcended Italy’s borders, finding its way into the hearts and onto the tables of people around the worldwide. And Mauritius is no exception. The universal appeal of pizza and pasta is undeniable,” she pointed out.

For the Managing Director of L’Artigiano, “the success of Italian cuisine lies in the simplicity of the ingredients, the use of fresh produce and traditional preparation methods. And at L’Artigiano, we spare no effort to perpetuate this tradition in Mauritius.”

New Product Highlights: Pasta & Desserts

This year, L’Artigiano introduced a whole new range of fresh pasta from the renowned Italian brand, Surgital, with two highly regarded product lines, Divine Creazioni and Laboratorio Tortellini. The company also expanded its product offering with a variety of traditional Italian desserts from the Monteleone brand, such as Baba, Sfogliatelle and Cannoli Siciliani.

Established in Mauritius since 2009, L’Artigiano, which opened its shareholding to the APTIS Group in 2022, is a key partner to the hotel and restaurant sector. The company supplies some of the island’s leading hotel groups, including Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels and LUX* Resorts & Hotels, with products from major food suppliers such as Zanetti, Salumificio Pedrazzoli, Pastificio Garofalo, Greci Prontofresco, Molino Pasini and Mionetto.

More Than a Supplier: A Culinary Partner

However, L’Artigiano is not just a product supplier; it has also positioned itself, over the years, as a partner to its loyal clientele, offering training for chefs from various hotels. as part of the 6th edition of Delizie Italiane, the company enlisted the expertise of Italian chef Bosio Andrea to lead exclusive workshops and training sessions for his peers from Constance, Beachcomber, LUX*, Sunlife and Marriott hotels. He also conducted training workshops for L’Artigiano’s employees.

Chef Bosio Andrea: An Inspiring Culinary Journey

Aged 48, Bosio Andrea has an unusual career path. Trained in hotel and restaurant management, he joined the Italian army in 1997 and served on peacekeeping missions in countries such as Albania, Sarajevo, and Kosovo. In 2001, he traded his uniform for a chef’s apron and opened a restaurant-pizzeria in Torino, Italy. He specialises in Italian cuisine, particularly the art of pizza making, and has also ventured into pastry and chocolate making, among other things. He is a founding partner and instructor at the pizza school, Academia Pizzaioli and currently serves as the institution’s Deputy Director.
